Tech and features to watch out for in the premium smartphone - OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G

OPPO launched its new OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G smartphone on 18th January 2021 in India. With the new Reno5 Pro 5G, OPPO is offering premium mobile phones' features in the mid-range segment. The phone is priced at Rs 35,990, and it comes with storage option of 8/128GB.

But is the smartphone worth the price? Are the features as premium as claimed by the mobile giant company? Let's take a deeper look at the Reno5 Pro 5G specifications to understand that.

Display: The premium 5G smartphone displays a touchscreen of 6.55 inches AMOLED and a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with higher brightness of 500 nits. Another feature of the display is its 3D borderless sense screen, which offers a smooth visual experience with its 90Hz refresh rate. So, you can swipe through albums or games quickly.

AI-highlight video feature: In the camera department, OPPO is introducing some futuristic technologies with Reno5 Pro 5G by offering industry-first AI-highlight video feature that allows users to shoot clear videos regardless of light conditions. With the help of the Ultra Night Video algorithm and Live HDR algorithm, the AI-highlight video feature helps improve video quality even in dimly or poorly lit scenes.

Hardware: OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G is the first phone in the Reno series running Android v11 with colorOS 11.1. It is powered by an Octa-core Cortex A77 and Cortex A55 Quad-core processor, having an operating speed of 2.6GHz and 2GHz, respectively. It has a massive 8GB RAM + 128 GB option and an Octa-Core CPU Cortex-A77 and Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, besides a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1000 Plus chipset for enhanced gaming.

 

Body: The new OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G phone flaunts a body of 6.29 x 2.88 x 0.30 in dimension, and the weight is 173 grams. So, you definitely won't break a muscle while carrying so much awesomeness around. The build has a glass front and back with an aluminium frame. The good part is that the phone is built with Corning Gorilla Glass, which makes it damage-resistant. It provides a Dual Sim slot – nano-SIM and dual stand-by.

 

Battery: The android smartphone is backed by a non-removable Li-po 4250 mAh battery + fast charging 65w. It gets fully charged in around 30 minutes. Charging is done with a USB –C port, which doubles as a headphone jack. Reverse charging is also supported.

Connectivity: Forget what 'buffering' is because the new OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G provides a 5G modem making it easy for the user to get a faster downloading speed with low latency. Users can also get access to features like WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Mobile Hotspot, USB Type-C, USB OTG along with 5G and 4G VoLTE networks.

Other Notable Features: The OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G includes sensors such as Fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. The phone is available in 2 different colours – Blue, and Black. To add a little twist, OPPO also reworked the product's finishing with its Reno Glow Finish. The glass can produce a microscopic pyramid pattern to create fingerprint–resistant surface and nanofilms to create a multicolour field. A fluorescent coating has been applied, so the phone glows in the dark.
